The Transformational Power of Sports

The transformational power of sports in the Los Angeles Basin was highlighted at the 2022 LA Sports Council’s Innovation Conference with a presentation of the findings from the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation Impact Study. Key metrics shared:

*39,690 Total Jobs
*$7B Economic Output
*$4B Labor Income
*$364M State & Local Taxes

This report understates the economic impact of the sports industry as the data does not include visitor spending or special events like Super Bowl LVI held at SoFi Stadium. Both of which are significant revenue drivers. The revenues generated directly benefit the communities we live, work, and play in.
